We love a weird piece. A unique piece. Pieces that are "a whirling dervish of works that reflect the artist’s message, their methods and their materials". And sometimes game just knows game: and Dr. Fred Adelson knows game. Like us, he has a lifelong obsession with art: he teaches it, he writes on it for the likes of the Courier Post, New Jersey Monthly and even the New York Times! We can't imagine a better partner in crime than Dr. Adelson.  He is a fantastic juror, and we can't wait to see his selections!

So let’s get together some great art with unique materials, unique designs and uniquely marvelous perspectives by wonderfully, talented artists.

SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY 11:59PM on SUNDAY, APRIL 6, 2025.

Submission Fee: $35 per 3 pieces of Artwork.

ABOUT OUR JUROR:

Fred B. Adelson is Professor Emeritus of Art History at Rowan University where he taught for many years.  He earned his Ph.D. in Art History from Columbia University, writing his dissertation on the landscape career of Alvan Fisher, (1792-1863), an early Hudson School artist who was based in the Boston area.  Adelson has curated exhibitions and written museum catalogs as well as approximately 200 articles dealing with a diverse range of artists like Berthe Morisot, Frank Lloyd Wright, Isamu Noguchi, Norman Lewis, and KAWS. Adelson covered art exhibitions at major venues in Philadelphia and New Jersey that resulted in numerous reviews published in the Courier-Post and The New York Times. He has also written about such celebrated American topics as Ben Shahn and the WPA in New Jersey, Annie Oakley, and Walt Whitman for New Jersey Monthly.
