CFEVA + Allens Lane Art Center present: The Rebeccah Milena Maia Blum Curatorial Fellowship.
The RMMB Curatorial Fellowship was created to celebrate the life and memory of Rebecah Milena Maia Blum, a celebrated curator of Berlin-based gallery Aurel Scheiblerin and European liaison of David Nolan Gallery in New York. Rebeccah spent the years of 1969-1979 in Mount Airy, a place of origin for her family. She attended Henry H. Houston School until Fifth Grade when she began to commute to the Julia R Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School in Center City Philadelphia. Her summers were spent joyfully at the Allens Lane Art Center Camp.
We are accepting proposals for all media and conceptual frameworks. The proposals will be judged on the strength of the artwork and concept, viability, and connection to the Center's mission and values. The fellow will be selected through a juried process by an established curator. The 2025 Jurors are Kaitlin Pomerantz and Michael Clemmons. We will select two fellows in this cycle of applications for the exhibitions in 2026 and 2027. The exhibition will take place in January at the Allens Lane Art Center Alber Gallery. The selected fellow will receive $1,500 stipend to help support the curatorial research and work of preparing an exhibition. An extra $500 will be available to cover installation costs, framing and shipping. The fellow will be selected through a juried process. Please contact Genevieve@cfeva.org with questions. The curatorial proposal must reflect artworks of artists other than the applicant's.
