Do You Feel Lucky utilizes imagery of the Mimosa Pudica, otherwise known as the “sensitive” or “touch me not” plant. The leaves of this curious plant close rapidly when touched. The Mimosa’s other outstanding characteristics are very showy pink blossoms and their other means of defense, very thorny stems.
According to the artist, Susan White, “My installations consist of multiple components, that can be rearranged and assembled in response to space. I am drawn to imagery that is based on natural forms because it allows the piece to grow in a viral, organic way.”
