Help Me!
Statement from Mehgan Abdel-Moneim
“Help Me!” is a snapshot of absurd struggle, a clown caricature of the past year and a half. The installation materials are a collection of hundreds of found items that symbolize the struggles of poor diet, caring for children, injury, unsafe living conditions, sickness, death, interpersonal difficulty, anxiety and loneliness. Perhaps you will see something in the window that you identify as a difficulty in your own life, but hopefully it looks so ridiculous that you will smile at the same time.
This project is part of a larger series of “Nests” or imaginary spaces of refuge made from garbage, household items, food and other found objects.
