“Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Oil painter, ethnically Indian, born in Kenya, educated in England, and now working and living in Philadelphia, the influences in my art span the four continents. My style is representational / impressionist. Self-taught artist with minimum formal training. My learning process in the last twenty years has been through experimenting, learning through books and painting as an exercise on a routine basis.
Artist Biography
Born in Kenya, educated in England and the USA, and now working and living in Philadelphia, I have been painting since 1996. I started by dabbling in photography, oils on wood, and watercolors. Oil has become my predominant medium. Painting is my way of pouring my soul onto a canvas, a spiritual experience that allows me to capture the pure energy and harmonious relationships of elements in life and nature. I’ve an impressionist style and use oils on canvas, paper or hardboard. I paint mainly nature scenes. The aim of my paintings is to express the resilience of the moment and hope for the future, by evoking feelings of peace and tranquility. Paintings that a viewer can walk into and feel the calmness offered in everyday ordinary views that we don’t always take time to stop and get enveloped by.
