Artist Statement

Influenced by his Turkish roots, Ergin seamlessly blends his cultural heritage with personal experiences to discover beauty in the mundane. Through oil paintings and ink drawings, he navigates two distinct realms in his artistic journey. One path explores the allure of everyday life, capturing scenes from the daily routine that resonate universally. The other delves into the realm of imagination, where Ergin crafts compelling narratives that invite viewers into his creative world.

Bio

Arda Ergin, born in Istanbul, Turkey is a Philadelphia-based artist working on life paintings and imaginative representational painting. Ergin was raised in Istanbul and moved to Philadelphia to pursue his education in Illustration. Ergin graduated from the University of the Arts in 2020. After graduating from college, Ergin decided to pursue his MFA at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Ergin graduated from PAFA in 2023 and is currently residing and working in Philadelphia.
