InLiquid is inviting proposal submissions for the third annual winter window installation at Old City Publishing, on view November 12th, 2024 – January 28th, 2025.
The winter-themed installation will be in the showcase window at Old City Publishing in Northern Liberties. Located on 2nd Street, the location has high foot traffic and is close to many local restaurants and businesses. Window displays are a classic element of the festive season, and this installation presents an opportunity to reach and connect with a wide audience. Whatever the season means to you, we welcome expressions of any and all winter festivities!
This is an open-call exhibition, and all InLiquid Members are welcome to apply.
Artists will be asked to provide a rendering/drawing for proposed new work or images of proposed existing work along with a paragraph explaining the installation and how it relates to the holiday theme, as well as 5 additional work examples, artist statement, bio, and CV.

About the Space
Old City Publishing is dedicated to providing the international community with the latest research and developments in the sciences, technology, medicine, and the humanities.
Founded in 1995 by Dr. Ian Mellanby and Guy Griffiths, OCP is also a longtime supporter of the arts and InLiquid, featuring rotating window displays from a wide variety of artists and mediums throughout the year. Mellanby hails from the UK and has great love and nostalgia for the magic of the holiday season he remembers from his childhood.
The installation space is roughly the shape of a cube with windows on two sides. It is approximately 58" front to back x 55" side to side x 70" floor to transom. There is an additional 24" above the transom to the ceiling. The space is accessed through a curtain at the back wall 55" wide x 70" high. There is space for pedestals, but any pedestals used must be on the shorter side to be visible from street level. The ceiling, while not weight-bearing, does allow for lightweight works to be hung with monofilament; there are a number of hooks in the ceiling that can support lightweight works. We discourage adding additional nails or screws to the walls and ceiling.
