Artist Talk with Heather Merckle and Janos Korodi
Join us for this exciting artist talk at Park Towne Place, featuring Heather Merckle and Janos Korodi, both featured artists in Park Towne’s permanent collection. The event takes place in the South Tower Oar Pub, beginning with a reception of hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, followed by the artists’ presentations at 6:30 and an engaging Q and A discussion.
Janos Korodi was born in Budapest, Hungary, where he completed a PhD at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. He has been awarded numerous artist residencies in the United States and has exhibited internationally. In 2015 he relocated permanently to Philadelphia, where he now resides with his family. In his recent painting series Motion Pictures, he explores the notion of place, non-place, and transition, as mediated through technology.
Heather Merckle was born in Lancaster, Ohio. She has a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown widely, in Philadelphia, New York City, Berlin, London, Iceland, and Italy. Merckle was a featured artist in this year’s SPRING/BREAK art fair in New York. Her work, alongside Korodi’s, shares an interest in place, and most recently extends into the cosmic as she has developed a body of work dealing with asteroids.
