East Market and InLiquid are both dedicated to a meaningful partnership and a shared mission to support local artists in the region and to deliver rich visual content to help foster a vibrant creative community.
East Market is a dynamic mixed-used project blending urban, artisanal shopping and dining experiences with contemporary work and living spaces. InLiquid, in partnership with East Market, will curate the lobby and 6th floor of the 1100 Ludlow office building featuring a rotating exhibition of original artwork made by local artists of Philadelphia. 1000 Ludlow has emerged as a design-hub in Philadelphia and hosts the offices of the National Real Estate Advisors, The Design Center, and the offices of renowned architectural firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson. Exhibitions in this exciting space will be transformed bi-annually.

Kevin Broad & Rebecca Schultz
Works by InLiquid members Kevin Broad and Rebecca Schultz are featured at East Market. The opening reception on May 15th will be in tandem with the opening of Pattern Burst at The Yard.
“Study of nature has brought an inherent organic quality to my work. My aesthetic focuses on capturing sensations of light and color along with the emotions these can inspire. My style gains strength from my exploration and direct handling of various mediums – paint that I have an intimacy with because I make it myself. Painting is this process of discovery without fear or repression with the potential of bringing forth new forms of expression.” – Kevin Broad
“My drawings, paintings, and prints express and process my love of, and fear for, the natural world. Witnessing the degradation of the environment evokes both an existential sadness and a reminder to embrace impermanence and mindfulness–to deeply see the beauty that is around me and accept that it is constantly changing. The imagery in my work references the essential qualities and forms of rocks, trees, clouds, and other elements of the natural world. The interplay between light and shadow is also a primary component of my work, reflecting the idea that in nature, things die so that others can live, or, put another way, the light cannot exist without the dark.” – Rebecca Schultz
