My current paintings are inspired by light and the gestures of color forms. When I first began painting, I saw objects as discreet, solid entities. However, in time, through continued observation, my perception of apparently static objects gave way to discovering the interplay of light and color forms moving through the objects into the surrounding space. Rather than seeing “still” life, I began to see color forms as a dance infused with light.
Painting is a solitary activity, which brings me great joy. I feel that I share that joy with the people who purchase my art. I would like my painting to contribute to society in another way, and so I will be donating 50% of my receipts to charity.
