Artist Statement

My work is an expression of my compassion for nature – a celebration of the good earth, the sun and everything in between. The largest and the smallest things are all beautiful to me. I begin a painting with a gesture and end as a contemplation on composition, form and color – a meditation of optimistic colorful motion. I hope to impart the joy I feel surrendering to playfulness and intuition as it leads to the discovery of the finished piece. What develops remains open to the imagination.
